quotes The fact that everyone is comparing Life Cycles to Anthills/collective means they have had an impact. Not every one may like Life Cycles but one thing it has done better then any other bike film including anthills films is win more awards. That can't be denied and does a lot in helping mountain biking gain exceptance in the mainstream. Anthill says that is what they are trying to do with this next film and Life Cycles is leading the way. They also look like they are trying to develop more of a story and take more time on their film. Something else Life Cycles did. Say what you will about Life Cycles but they are effecting the sport wether you like it or not.

quotes Two things. This teaser doesn't do the movie justice, I've seen a few sneak previews and my mind was blown. 2nd talking with the film makers they make the most money off of pre orders, they've dropped a bunch of their own money to make this, and if we want them to keep making films like this they need our support. They have my pre order!

quotes That's it, That's All took 2 years to film and that's how long it took to shoot this movie, why are people acting like it's taking so long? I also do believe now a lot of hype isn't coming from Life Cycles directly but people who've seen it. I've talked with a couple of people now who've seen it and everyone who has watched it is blown away. If it takes two years to make some that's new and different then I would rather have an awesome video every two years then crap every year. Of course I'm sure everyone isn't going to be a fan of Life Cycles and I'm sure they're ok with that. It's time we had something different and I'm glad they finally had the balls to step up and do it.

quotes We all like different things for different reasons and we all don't have to like the same thing. That's the beauty of where we live. If all it takes is some fast music and few cablecams to get you excited then thats awesome. For me I need a little more. just getting tired of the formula.

quotes Agreed the music was shit. I don't agree with people saying the visuals were good + bad music= good movie. It's a total package and if don't have one you got nothing. Also what the hell is up with the black and white section with the color key. Hello is this 2002? I would expect more from some professionals who are up to date with the times. Larock did that like 4 years ago. The movie was a huge let down in my opinion I've seen better VOD from kids on this site then paying to see that. Just my opinion though.

quotes It's cool that Big D is giving Frankowski and Gibb props! I'm excited to see what Life Cycles has to offer if Big D thinks it's going to be cool and different.

quotes Looks like Follow Me is also doing a bit of a night shoot. I guess this is the year of the night shoots for mountain bike films. I know Life Cycles also did one. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Life-Cycles-Whistler-night-Vanderham-2010.html I wonder who's going to be better? It looks like they were only using construction lights where I think Life Cycles had bigger lights. At any rate it looks like we are going to get two sweet films this year. It's been awhile since we've seen anything from Boyko so this should be good.

quotes PS Hollywood has been shooting at a 24 fps for almost a hundred years now, if they thought higher was better, don't you think they would have done something about it years ago?
hipbike commented under kiwihardtail's blog ( Feb 11, 2010 at 8:51 )
quotes No there isn't. There is a reason everyone in Hollywood (including tv shows shoot at 24 fps (25 fps if you live anywhere in the world other then North America). 24 fps is what looks natural to the eye. The faster the frame rate the sharper everything is which sharper is not always better. The human eye reacts more like 25 fps. By increasing your frame you're making your footage look like "video". Which for years they've been trying to make video cameras look like film. Why would you want to take a step back and make your footage look cheaper?

quotes I agree, I think we are going to get the same old thing from anthill as the collective did, they're awesome but the same, nothing really new. I was at the backyard booty in Nelson and Life Cycles showed a preview, let me say it's nothing like you've seen from any other company yet! They are going to change how people shoot action sport films. Life Cycles Kills it.
